360°kids is a vitally important community agency serving all of York Region. We have been a leader in the delivery of innovative support services for more than 35 years as we work to improve the lives of unhoused and marginalized youth and families in York Region. At 360°kids, we provide a unique continuum of care approach with programs and services that are essential to the health and well-being of youth. These proven strategies help to keep youth safe by providing stable housing options with 360° wraparound supports.

Plans, leads, executes and manages the day to day operations of Connections Emergency Housing in accordance with regulatory requirements, 360°kids’ policies, mission and vision of the organization. Oversees a team of workers to deliver sound and innovative programming and care for at-risk youth. Conveys and demonstrates leadership style that supports a culture of inclusion and community capacity building. Reports to the Manager of Youth HUB.

Schedule : Sun-Thurs 9am-5pm with some flexibility.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the day-to-day organization and operation of the Connections Emergency Housing.
Work in consultation with Manager of Youth HUB to select and facilitate activities aimed at achieving the desired outcomes of the program.
Works with the Manager of Youth HUB to ensure that the program is in line with the stated mission and vision of the organization.
Provides direction to staff in terms of operations & programs, in accordance with the approved Strategic Plan of 360°kids.
Ensures that appropriate policies, procedures, and methods are being utilized, including regular audits of performance, outcomes, and documentation.
Ensures that the Connections program and activities comply with applicable standards and laws.
Provides reports and related information as required to the Manager of Youth HUB, other designated organizations, and appropriate regulatory agencies and ensures staff completes mandatory recording and reporting. .
Along with the Manager of Youth HUB, provides leadership for the program through team building and motivation of employees, manages for high performance and oversees plans for the training, development, and retention.
In conjunction with the Team Lead of Home Base, oversee the weekend day-to-day operation of HUB programs.
In consultation with the Manager of Youth HUB hires and terminates staff for all program positions. Recruits and supervises volunteers and students.
In the event of a crisis or critical incident, exercises judgement and initiative in managing contact with management.
In conjunction with the Manager of Youth HUB, assists in the sound financial management and appropriate controls of the program’s budget and provides leadership to the team and direction with regard to financial management of the program’s budget.
Other duties as required.

Education & Skills Required:

Post-Secondary degree/diploma Child/youth related field (e.g. Child and Youth, Social Service Worker, Social Worker, Psychology, Sociology) or the equivalent combination of education and experience working with youth.
Minimum of three years’ experience working with “at-risk” or street involved youth.
Minimum one year supervisory or management experience
Leadership skills, including motivation, delegation, coaching/mentoring and empowerment and the ability to motivate staff.
Demonstrated extensive knowledge of working with youth, including understanding of the regulatory environment (e.g. CFSA).
Demonstrated client focused counselling skills and role modelling.
Will possess a broad knowledge of community resources and the ability to strongly advocate for clients and professional referrals.
Relationship building and management skills, to support relationships with peers, staff, partners and ministry officials and other stakeholders. Thorough understanding of issues pertaining to youth and knowledge of relevant legislation.
Thorough understanding of adolescent development and the impact of mental health and substance use difficulties
Client focused counselling skills with the ability to be adaptable with a flexible approach taking into consideration the unique qualities of each client. Ability to work independently with groups of youth and as part of a team.
Broad knowledge of community resources and the ability to strongly advocate for clients and professional referrals.
Current First Aid/CPR certification, Current Broad Record Check (criminal background check). car and valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
Speaking and writing French is an asset.
